Documentation requirements for temperature-controlled shipping, chain of custody, and good distribution practice.
This course covers the documentation requirements behind temperature-controlled and cold chain pharmaceutical shipping, chain of custody expectations across a distribution network, and how shipping records connect back to the distribution requirements in 21 CFR 211.150. It also covers good distribution practice principles that go beyond the US regulatory minimum.
A product that was manufactured correctly can still fail in the field if temperature excursions during shipping go undocumented or unnoticed. Shipping documentation is often the weakest link in an otherwise strong quality system, since it happens outside the four walls of the facility.
